Bethnal Green Station

On March 3rd 1943 Bethnal Green tube station was being used as a public air raid shelter. There was a crush and 173 innocent people lost their lives.
Today a memorial is under construction on the site. A deprived, graffiti ridden area of the East End. It is interesting to note that the memorial alone stands untouched by the spray paint and marker pens. Respect for those killed still runs deep.
